Also...
My laptop is quickly going towards its death after about 2 years of very heavy use. OH NOES IMPENDING DOOOOM, yes I am doing regular backups to external drive, thanks.

Laptop model/brand/series recommendations?

Looking for not too pricey ($700-1000).
1.4 ghz or better
80gb+ HDD
at least 1 gb of RAM
DVD-RW would be awesome but will settle for DVD-R
802.11 a/b/g would be swell
prefer 14" or bigger screen
Bluetooth is a plus

Weight/battery life aren't very important as I don't tend to use it on the go much at all. Oh and I need something that either has, or is capable of running Windows XP. Vista is the equivalent of rusty hacksaw murder.

Thinkpads are too boring looking for me (ew, black and blocky) but I don't need anything super stylish either. I currently have a Toshiba Satellite. It has roundy corners and silver color plastic and a greyish top, so the only black part on the inside is the screen frame and the keyboard, if that makes any sense.

Macs are unfortunately out of my price range and I still insist that I need a right-click button. Nyah.

So, peanut gallery, advice/suggestions/clamors to jump on mac bandwagon/crazy ramblings/non sequiturs please.

Sorry :D
This made me smile and laugh and go watch the Discovery commercial and smile and laugh at it and then sing-song in my head the xkcd version, and then try to find each comic it references and look at those for more laughs.

I love the title-text!

Discovery Channel "I love the whole world" song/commercial

Now with LJ icon! I may tinker it and slow it down some, it's just slightly too fast if you are singing along.

Anybody got a spoon?
So I can de-ovarize myself?

I swear, the hormones, they make me cuhrazy. Everything is making me choked up/wet eyes -- Sappy commercials.. Love songs.. Old people holding hands.

I should also be forbidden to listen to the Delilah show... As I was driving home just now I was really crying at one song, a 25-yr-old lady had called in saying she had lost her mother recently and was taking care of her younger siblings (12 and 14) and her own 1-year old.

And I know you're shining down on me from heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together
One sweet day

*GAG*

Normally I change the station. But this had me in tears. *grumble*

People who know me in person -- which one do you feel is more accurate? I won't be offended. I see good and bad things in both :)

Small update
I'm alive :D

Things have been OK. Some good, some bad. It evens out :)

I made some friends list cuts due to the amount of time I spent skimming as opposed to actually reading with intent to commentize. It's no offense, I just would rather not skim. Feel free to reciprocate if you want, I won't mind in the slightest, especially as I rarely write here these days.

Also, if you haven't noticed, I have changed all my entries to friends-only and public posts are few and far between. So if you have newly friended me and I haven't reciprocated, just drop me a comment and we'll figure it out.

We're going on vacation at the end of May and I'm really looking forward to it. Then June is going to be a buckle-down month as we've got a party planned and I'm also being handed down a position of great power (and responsibility) in a group I'm active in. So things to keep me busy which is good.

Anywho, as always if you need something, just comment. My @Livejournal email appears to be malfunctioning as I'm not receiving mails, but comment emails are sent elsewhere.

Till the next update...

pay bills: check
clear out way-overflowing-with-dishes sink: check
load/run dishwasher: check
wash, dry and put away sink of dishes: check
clean out fridge (yuuuck): check
take out trash: check
sweep bathroom, clean countertops, sink and mirrors: check

yet to be done before this place no longer looks like a war zone: clean bathtub, vacuum everywhere, tidy bedroom, run approx. thirteen loads of laundry and actually hang them up in the closet, make bed, clean up dining room and living room, tidy kitchen, mop floors, file eighty zillion pieces of paper.

I do feel like I have made a significant accomplishment in the last 1.5 hrs though...

Oops... eating dinner at some point would help. That handful of Doritos at 6:30 didn't count...
